(WVLT) - A popular East Tennessee fall attraction is closed for the remainder of the season following a barn fire early Friday morning. Owners of the Blackburn Farm Pumpkin Patch confirmed a fire broke out inside their main barn on Friday, Oct. 30, before opening hours. No one was injured, but the blaze completely destroyed the farm’s on-site sweet shop.
Fire Cause and Damage According to farm owners Liz and Brian, the fire was sparked by a donut fryer inside the barn. While the fire destroyed the entire sweet shop, owners noted the rest of the barn structure appears salvageable. According to the owners, the fire broke out before daily operations began, and so no employees or visitors were inside and no injuries were reported.
